AVP Academic

The Associate VP Academic will assist the VP Academic & Student Affairs with tasks related to academic initiatives, student engagement and interaction. The AVP Academic will be responsible for the following:

  • Aid the VP Academic & Student Affairs in developing and organizing academic initiatives
  • Represent CASA and the undergraduate student body on councils/committees, as appointed by the VP Academic
  • Act as project lead for academic events organized by CASA X
  • Develop and maintain CASA’s online academic resources
  • Assist in answering any and all inquiries sent to the CASA-JMSB Facebook groups
  • Must be highly organized and available throughout the 2018-19 academic year

AVP Events

The Associate VP Events will assist the VP Events with tasks related to event planning, coordination and executing. The AVP Events will be responsible for the following:

  • Help create original/fun ideas for both social and academic events
  • Help in establishing plans for pre-event preparation and day-of logistics
  • Assist in creating event task lists and ensure that everything is done in a timely manner
  • Work with VP Marketing to ensure events are properly promoted
  • Work with VP Academic to ensure proper direction for academically focused events
  • Ensure that all events are delivered at high quality levels
  • Help ensure events are within budget
  • Help in establishing plans for pre-event preparation and day-of logistics
  • Out of the box thinking, able to take initiative while respecting budget and logistics

AVP External

The Associate VP External Affairs will assist the VP External Affairs with maintaining CASA’s relationship with its corporate partners, while overseeing the CASA Conference Program. The AVP External will be responsible for the following:

  • Maintain relationships with CASA’s existing corporate partners
  • Develop sponsorship strategies to pursue new and innovative sponsorship opportunities
  • Work closely on developing and improving the CASA Deals App
  • Oversee the CASA Conference Program, which involves coordinating & organizing applications, selecting fund recipients, and verifying attendees’ attendance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and French
  • Having a good knowledge of the local businesses around JMSB is an asset
  • Must be highly organized and available throughout the 2018-19 academic year

AVP Finance

The Associate VP Finance will assist the VP of Finance in guiding CASA’s financial strategies, maintaining day-to-day financial activities, and acting as a liaison between CASA and its subsidiaries. The AVP Finance will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide direct support to CASA VP Finance
  • Keep an open communication line with all CASA subsidiaries
  • Review subsidiary expense forms and budget requests
  • Verify subsidiary reconciliations and journal entries
  • Verify and prepare all cheques
  • Record all relevant accounting data
  • Participate in the construction of CASA’s budget

A successful AVP Finance must have the following aptitudes:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Firm understanding of accounting principles
  • Strong sense of integrity and  accountability
  • An analytical and logical approach to problem solving
  • Knowledge in Excel and QuickBooks are an asset

AVP Marketing

The Associate VP Marketing will assist the VP of Marketing with tasks related to strategic planning, coming up with ideas for events, developing campaigns for upcoming events, coordinating during the actual events and taking on tasks related to marketing as designated by the VP. We are looking for someone who possesses the following traits:

  • Out-of-the-box creative, outgoing and engaged
  • Open-minded and not afraid to take on challenges
  • Able to think on-the-spot
  • Highly organized and able to work with tight deadlines

Graphic Designer

The Graphic Designer will work closely with CASA’s marketing team to develop graphics to be used in promoting CASA’s events and brands.  The Graphic Designer will be responsible for the following:

  • Creating graphic content for social media platforms, print and web design.
  • Aid in the development of the creative strategy for CASA
  • Must have knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Highly organized and able to work with tight deadlines
  • Please submit ~5 different examples of previous work with your application. (Ex: Social media banners, posters, website designs, booklets…etc.)

CASA X Coordinators

The CASA X Coordinators manage CASA’s promo team and supervise the organisation of all bi-weekly 5x8s. The CASA X Coordinators will be responsible for the following:

  • Hiring all the brand ambassadors.
  • Assigning them tasks.
  • In the Fall semester, organising all the bi-weekly social events with the help of CASA.
  • In the Winter semester, supervising the CASA X team as they will be organising all the bi-weekly social events.
  • Mentoring the Brand Ambassadors about the ins and outs of event management and planning.
  • Acting as an intermediary between the brand ambassadors and the other subsidiaries.

Independent Directors

Independent directors bring an independent voice to the board, as they don’t have the operational responsibilities of other board members. Their responsibilities include active participation on board committees and reaching out to students for feedback on board activities and CASA umbrella initiatives.

Alumni Directors

Independent directors bring an independent voice to the board and a wealth of experience, as they are JMSB alumni that have held a seat on the CASAJMSB BOD in the past.
